EU compliance notes

Elderberry itself has no authorised EU health claim, so it cannot carry an immune or antiviral benefit on pack on its own. The standard route is to formulate with vitamin C or zinc and use their authorised claims, for example vitamin C contributes to the normal function of the immune system, while elderberry leads the branding and flavour story. Claims about treating colds, flu or any illness are not permitted. We build the label so the hero ingredient sells the product and the added nutrients carry the compliant message.
